Well call me old school, but I personally prefer Windows 7 "IF" you are not using a touch screen, or portable device. On laptops and desktops I prefer the old set up. I have some clients who are newbies though and love Windows8. It's all in what you like and what device you are using it on. If you are annoyed with Windows8 there is a tiny program you can install that will make the computer work much more like Windows 7, it's called classic shell, it's free and you can use either/or. It also uninstalls. Does not get rid of 8, just enhances it so it can be used more like 7.

✔ Best Answer
"hp downloaded automatic updates"

All that HP crapware slows the system down. Do yourself a favor & uninstall ALL of it, then download the drivers yourself, along with any Windows Updates.

If you don't like the touch screen (or whatever they now call it) you don't even need to download a program to make it look like Win 7 or whatever.

I'm running my desktop with just a few shortcut folders on the desktop. Each of these contains other sub-folders. In fact I like it better than previous Windows desktops because I have made these arrangements exactly suit my own usage. I could have done this in the past but this time the blank canvas forced me to think it through in detail. I now have less desktop icons than I had with previous systems and have not lost any productivity or access to my more technical stuff.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
