✔ Best Answer
Removing the icon will NOT remove the program, it will still load at startup & run in the background. If you know that you're never going to use it, remove the program completely:

EDIT: do NOT use the program mentioned in the above article. Scroll down to the instructions on how to manually remove using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Control Panel.

Dell Backup and Restore is basically a virus.
It's installed without my knowledge.
It's installed without my permission.
It nags me constantly with reminders.
The reminders can't be turned off.
I stopped 100% of my Dell services.
It still constantly nags me.
It begs me to pay Dell a fee.
It provides a very poor service that is available elsewhere, and works better.
The alternate methods are 100% free.
Dell has deliberately disabled other Windows 7/8 features so I'm forced to pay Dell instead.
If I uninstall Dell's bloatware... I do *NOT* get back the standard Windows 7/8 features.

This is basically randsome-ware.
Thanks Dell!
I'll be sure and buy more of your computers in the future!
