Solved How do I open an MOD file with Windows 8?

Specs: Windows 8.1
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 computer and I connected my old JVC Video Camera to it to upload the videos. Its so old that the MOD files wont play. Help!

Google for "Freemake" video converter and convert them to MP4 or avi.

Try installing VLC Player, it will handle just about any video/audio format.

You can also try changing the file extension. For instance, change movie.mod to movie.mpg & then try playing it in Windows Media Player.

I have my MOD files running fine with VLC player (see #3 above) - I would go for it.

Another trick that "might" work is to change the mod extensions to mp4 - something that has worked for me in particular circumstances.
