Solved How can I upgrade xp to win 8?

Specs: Windows XP
best Internet explorer not recognized by my bank. Need to up grade! Have win 8.1 disk.
HELP. I gather there are several steps take. but these sites seem to be blocked. Mother Microsoft at her best! The win 8.1 is 64 bit.

Try a different browser first, such as Portable Firefox 52 ESR.

Way better than an upgrade to Win8 (assuming your machine can even handle an upgrade to Win8)

There is no upgrade path, you will have to completely wipe the HDD & install Win8 from scratch. You'll need the disc & product key code.

If it's an original XP era PC, it may not meet the requirements for Win8.

XP machine is more likely to be upgradeable to Windows 7 but not for sure without more system specs and if possible you will need DVD, New product key, and possibly more room on the drive than you have open. It would have to be a complete wipe and reinstall also.
As recommended try the latest version of Firefox that is XP compatible and see if that helps the situation.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
