Is it possible to return my OS to win 8 after upgrading to WIN 10 without using the OS CD?
I kinda lost my WIN 8 CD :( ?
DarwinJones, I think it is not a best option to restore and it won't work, because after a month windows delete the windows.old folder which is responsible to roll back to previous version of windows. can you please check with the below link I provided for the clean installation of previous version of windows? Before that do a backup to save your valuable datas.
DarwinJones, If your upgrade is within one month you can downgrade to windows 8 with the option "Go back to Windows 8", the steps are explained HERE, eventhough it is more than one month and you don't have CD in the same link I provided see under the topic "How to Downgrade if Windows 10 Doesn’t Give You The Option"
Hope it helps.
If you upgraded with the free upgrade offer within the last month, there should be an uninstall option in Windows to revert back to the previous version. See this: http://www.howtogeek.com/220723/how...
If you upgraded more than a month ago, the uninstall Windows 10 option won't be available so you'll have to re-install Windows 8 from installation media. If you lost it, well all I can say is you should be more careful with your stuff.
Before you go about reverting to win-8 - safeguard your data "first". Copy it all to external storage - DVD at least; and to an external hard drive too is nice(r). Check the copies are accessible too before proceeding to rebuild the system. If you are beyond the "one month go back period" - let us know; there are other options that might also work...
Thanks for the respond guys! Yes, it's over a month.
Is it possible to do it in system restore?
