Need to know how to get video files back that went green (decrypted) when changing back to win 7 from win 8 pro media edition. Windows 8 does not work good with video playing. I can still see the folder and can open up the folder. I can see the files (mpg)s but cant load them. i can look at the properties , that does not tell me anything. can anyone tell me how to fix this? Are they somehow encrypted or not because i did not encrypt them.

Filenames in green are encrypted. To decrypt a file (remove the encryption) do this:

Right-click the file and choose Properties,
Click the Advanced tab,
untick the "Encrypt contents to secure data" tick-box.
Click 'OK'

What program did you use to encrypt them in the first place? Files and folders don't encrypt themselves. That requires user input, such as a key or password. And it usually requires special software.

You cannot transfer files encrypted with EFS because the private key to decrypt them is on the other computer (or OS). You first need to decrypt them on the old computer and then transfer them to your new system, or transfer your key to the new computer.
