Solved Extra letters showing up that I didn't type.

June 26, 2014 at 10:14:36
Specs: Windows 8
g I have been having trouble suddenly with my computer. It types extra letters that I have not hit keys for. Sometimes it's ok and other times it get crazy. Right now it's working fine....last night it added letters to everything I typed. Have I turned asomething on or off that I shouldn't have. Mostly it seemed to be adding semi-colons and n's and f's and a couple other letters but can't remember what they were. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Thanks for your help.

Best try an external keyboard to see if that is the same. This would prove/disprove whether the actual keyboard was at fault.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

You might try a different keyboard. Is this a laptop or desktop system?

Mostly this sort of thing turns out to be an issue with the keyboard itself.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

It's a Gateway laptop just one year old.

If you use a usb plug-in keyboard - does it still produce the errors?

Probably a hardware issue, but it could be a program...

Have you downloaded any programs that are for macros, like for gaming?

Have you downloaded any programs that add smileys or something when you type?

CPU: AMD FX-8350 - 8 Core @ 4.0 GHz
