Solved Error loading W8 on Lenovo PC can't find script CallApp.vbs

November 19, 2013 at 07:43:39
Specs: Windows 7
When I switch to desktop, an error message always pops up that says "Can't find script c:\program files(x86)\Lenovo\motioncontrol\CallApp.vbs". Doesn't seem to be causing any problem other than the popup is constant and annoying. What is this file and do I need it, and how can I get rid of the popup message? I have Windows 8 and my laptop is a Lenovo Yoga, I think it is the 11" screen.

If you don't mind dispensing with the feature this might help:

I can't vouch personally for the program on there but there are manual methods too.

Well now that I know what it is, I'm not sure I want to remove it, but now I think I actually want to fix the program that is not working right. Where can I get MotionControl to reinstall? Apparently this was removed from my computer when trying to clean up a virus and then I ended up upgrading my Windows and the application was gone, along with other Lenovo applications. I have searched Lenovo's website but can not find where to get these programs for a reinstall.

Given your situation I think it might prove tricky. I get the impression that there are a number of versions and if you have changed the OS there might not even be a version for your current hardware and software combination.

You did the right thing going to Lenovo - pity that backfired. Not much help but if you Google with "lenovo motion control" there are several hits. Probably that will include the usual spread of dodgy downloads or wrong versions.

In the following thread, Motion Control is described as "a cheesy Kinect wannabe that's not really useful":
