Solved dvd drive does not work code19

Specs: Windows 8
hl dt st dvdram gt20f ata device driver winows 8 will not work. I tried to find a new driver for it but with out luck.

....and the drive was working before the upgrade but not afterwards?

If the above assumption is correct, this seems to be a known Toshiba issue. See the last few posts on here where the issue was rectified:

Looks like you need to re-install the Windows 7 Toshiba Disc Creator (from Toshiba's website).

See if there are any conflicts in Device Manager (Windows key + X then see list).

DVD drives don't normally require special drivers, just the ones Windows supplies.
Go to Device Manager, select the DVD drive and use the Uninstall button in the driver tab. When you restart your computer it will find new hardware and re-instate the driver.

I have tried all of the ways that was given above. The darn dvd still does not work. I went to safe mode and the yellow mark goes away, but going back to windows 8 the yellow mark reappears. Any other ideas?

Was this an upgrade to Windows 8?

Was it working then you suddenly ran into this issue?

Better let us have computer make and model too as this seems to be a tricky one.

I did find this but you might not wish to dive into the registry. It's a bit like previous advice tho:

It was an up grade. Toshiba model# L505D-GS6000
