"Can I get DVD to change to Windows 7?"

Only if Sony provide Windows 7 drivers for that model. Check the Sony support website for your country. If they don't have Windows 7 drivers for your Vaio model, you cannot install Windows 7 on it.

For the UK go here: http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/hu...

For USA go here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/selec...

Windows 8 is really a good OS and work flawlessly even on very old hardware. Using third-party Start menu programs such as Start8, Classic Shell, etc. it becomes Windows 7 with better memory management and all.

Therefore, you should try to resolve your problems, whatever they are. As a start, you can let us know what your problems are. Maybe we can help.

You are not sure, either, if Windows 7 will run without any problems.

Obviously, assuming drivers are available, you also need a Windows 7 install disk. The UK version will cost you about £70 in the UK (OEM version, which is sufficient for your needs). Personally, I would persist with Windows 8 which is a really good OS.

Perhaps if you explained what problems you are having people might be able to help; if it is really bad you should be able to return your computer as "not fit for purpose" and buy a Windows 7 one instead.
