April 27, 2015 at 06:24:32
Specs: Windows 8.1
my desktop background has been hijacked, and used to show Game of Thrones backgrounds. last night, it started showing the "SPECTRE" logo for the new James Bond movies. No spyware or viruses are found...but how do I get rid of this? This morning, my IE pages were disabled and replaced with only a Google page.

Very likely you have a pest- or three besides the one you appear to have... With your current problem in mind

Run these and retain any logs generated...

http://support.kaspersky.co.uk/4162

http://filehippo.com/download_malwa...

All freebies, safe to use.

When you run install the above utils, use custom NOT automatic; and carefully uncheck any boxes already "helpfully prechecked" as you will then avoid installing assorted junk and ephemera - which again you will not need or want. Install only the util.

JRT will install itself to the desktop, from where you run it. It will open a dos window - followi instructions there; it will also reboot the system as part of its cleanout process.

Retain any logs generated by the above utils for further use/examination.

✔ Best Answer
Is it your personal computer?
Are there other people shearing it.

I guess it may be someone you know changing your PC

Good point from #2 post... Is there anyone around who might be playing about with the computer and changing things?
