Delete Windows 8 admin account on Asus laptop bought on eBay

Specs: Windows 8 pre-installed
Asus x55c-ds31 Notebook

I bought this notebook on eBay, it was described as used/new, received it and it is exactly what was described, new condition. But, the seller did not remove himself as the administrator because he forgot the password, this is what he told me in the first phone call, and also that he did not want to lose the Microsoft Office application that he bought and installed, next conversation was that actually his wife set everything up when he got the computer and she said I could just sign on as a "guest", which is true, but like I left a message and explained that I have tried to change something and keep getting that I need administrator permission. She called and left me a message stating that I can do what she said about the guest sign on, that she didn't remove some of their information, but would give me the password. But, it doesn't work, or I'm using it in the wrong way? Another thing is he is shown with a picture of himself, and why since I bought it why shouldn't I be the only one to be the administrator if I choose that option. Sorry, to ramble on, but I received the laptop over two weeks ago and this issue has not been resolved yet. If anyone can tell me how to delete this guy I would be really happy. I don't even know much about the laptop yet because of the administrator issue.
Thanks for letting me vent a bit too.

Sorry, but we cannot help. It is impossible to verify your situation and also impossible to prevent such information from being used by others to gain illegal access to a computer.

Thanks for the information. I do have another question that maybe I can get help with then. What about if I do a factory reset, will that remove administrator, and will I lose the Windows 8 operating system and Microsoft applications. I read about factory resets, clean installs, restore points, and recovery options. I just don't want to do something and end up with nothing on my laptop. I didn't get any kind of recovery discs or information on the laptop from the owner, this was my first eBay experience, and maybe my last. Thanks for anything you can you can answer.

Manufacturers stopped supplying recovery disks a LONG time ago. Instead, they put the recovery files on a hidden partition on the HDD & provide software to create your own set of disks. It's a one shot deal though, once the disks are created, that's it. If they are lost or damaged, another set cannot be created. So if the original owner created the disks but didn't give them to you, you're out of luck.

That being said, all you really need to do is remove the Admin password which is a very simple task. We're not supposed to discuss such things however, lookie here!
