How do we create desktop icons to word documents in Win 8? So I can quickly open them. And how do change my mouse to single click to open an icon?
To create a shortcut to your documents folder, right click it and use "Create Shortcut". Cut and paste this onto the desktop. For single click:
Use "Windows + X keys" to get to Control Panel > Folder Options > General tab.
The setting should be there.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Another way. Right click on your file > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)
Worked perfectly. Thank you very much. Derek
