Make sure you have no disks in any drives.

Could be HD failing but it would help if you check that error message again and confirm that you are giving it to us "exactly" as it is on the screen.

When does the error message first appear?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

My laptop is having the same problem when booting up and doing to checking media tests which both fail (this is within a dos looking screen). It may have started after a windows update? I also cannot open any folders located within my libraries (documents, music, pictures and videos), when I try to open them a prompt comes up that says pictures.library-ms is no longer working. The checking media "fail" and not being able to open folders within my libraries seems to have occurred at the same time. Is this a windows update issue or a windows 8 problem?

Thanks for any input helping...

Alkim

Please disregard my #1.
It was posted in the wrong thread and it's now too late to edit it out.

While I'm on here tho, is that the "exact" error message (I can find no information
about it)?

What browser are you using? If, for example, it is IE then try Firefox or some other alternative browser just to see if it is a browser issue. Alternatively you could try IE Reset (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button). You will lose some customizations and addons but the addons soon come back after a little browsing.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
