Hi amin24.5,

As rightly suggested by "XpUser4Real", perform virus scan using malwarebytes. Click the link mentioned below to download malwarebytes:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...

Also, you may try performing System Restore for the date the system was working fine. Please refer to the link mentioned below:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/...

NOTE: System restore will remove the applications installed after the restore point.

Thanks & Regards

Hi amin24.5,

Please let us know the format of the video that is not working.

Is it that the video stops in the middle or it does not play at all?
Did you update the Chipset and Video driver of the computer?

You may update the K-Lite codec pack using the link mentioned below:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_k...

Thanks & Regards

Is Win pro 8 what the PC came with pre-installed or is this a custom install?

Uninstall VLC then re-install it from a new download. Save the downloaded file rather than running it, then double click the saved file to install it.

Get it from this website:

Tried it man
its exactly what I did

I encountered another problem
I cant preview Pictures in Windows Picture Viewer
The software wont pop up like it used to
I think it has to do with some windows service that may have been disabled
I already reinstalled my GPU driver with a new one

I dont want to reinstall windows
I got better things to do
But if that settles the case...

Always best to check for malware first.

I guess there's always a chance that upgrading to Win 8.1 will just happen to fix it, although I'm reluctant to upgrade yet because there still seem to be major bugs around:
