If you changed the router's default (factory set) login/password details - either or both - and can't remember what they are... The only way now is to "reset" the router. This will restore the factory defaults; details of which will usually be on the base of the router and/or in documentation that came with the router.

The reset is usually via a wee hole on the back plate; accessed with something like a large(r) paper clip. If you check in the manual for your router it will tell you more clearly how to reset...

Wise to note (hard copy) what you change router's details to. And (unless security is a serious issue in your home...) stick a we note on the base of the router with the new details...? But do NOT cover the factory affixed label; it has other assorted useful info you might wish to consult at any time...

It would help to know the model number of your router.

How did you go about changing the password? I'm guessing you logged into the router settings by opening a browser & then entering its IP address? It should be http://192.168.1.1 & unless you changed the router's default login credentials, the username & password are both admin. If that info is incorrect, look at the label on the underside of the router.

Once you get into the configuration settings, then you can change the network name & password. Make sure to save the changes.

"tell my username and password is correct"
What does that mean - it reads like a question?

If it was working before then either the username or password is not what you think it is, a typo maybe or upper/lower case mix up.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
