Specs: Windows 8 RTM, 1.73GHz /2Gb
Whether i boot from the windows 8 DVD or run setup within windows 7 i end up with the message i don't have a 64 bit processor. Setup cannot continue

Processor Intel T2080 1.73GHz

Insalling Windows 7 32bit and windows 8 developer preview 32 bit was OK

I will try winows 7 pro 64 bit and post back

But it is a dual core processor

You don't have a 64-bit processor. Not much more to be said. You will get the same message if you try to install a 64-bit version of Windows 7.

That the processor is dual core is irrelevant; it's still just a 32-bit processor.

If your Win 8 DVD is retail, it should also include x86 version disk. You can use that to install 32-bit W8. If you used W8 upgrade assitant, then you could only download the version suitable to your previous OS, which seems to be 32-bit.
