The D-Link router is setup. I have cable connection to internet using the router. Cannot access router admin with or with IE displays that they cannot find page. It works on XP machine. Need to access to change wireless settings.

What is the model on the router? I suppose it is possible that windows 8 conflicts with it. Sometimes it makes a difference as to how to connect. It will also say on the back often times.

you could also try http://dlinkrouter

edit: if you are connected with the xp machine. On the xp machine hold the windows key and type the letter r. type cmd hit enter. At the command prompt type ipconfig. The screen will show a bunch of stuff, one of which is the default gateway. This should be the ip address of the dlink(in case someone changed it during set up.)
