I have a file of pictures on my external hard drive that I want to protect from being erased , is there a way to lock a file from being erased but still can use it with the lock in place
A better idea would be to copy it to more than one drive. Making it read only doesn't stop you from losing it if the drive goes bad. How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.
Hi ndimich, You can try changing the permissions for a particular file or folder and that would deny a user to delete the file from the drive. Deny yourself the permission to modify or delete the file.
For more information, refer to the link given below:
NOTE: Even after changing the permissions the external hard drive can be formatted and all the files along with the file for which you changed the permission can get removed.
Thanks & Regards
