Can PNG files be deleted without harming computer?

Specs: Windows Vista
I run Content Cleanup by "NetNanny" and both PNG and JPG files are in abundance. They appear to have been automatically down loaded after surfing IE. Can they be deleted with out harming any other processes on my lap top?

It's generally faster, easier, and safer to just clear your browser's cache.

PNG and JPG are picture files. Removing them will not harm other process on your computer, whatever way you do it. Obviously if a picture is part of some process it will be missing.

The ones in your temporary internet files folder would be OK to remove but as already mentioned, just clearing your browser history is adequate.

If they are elsewhere on your drive you need to be careful. You don't want to delete any pictures you've saved or any that other programs use.

Don't forget to preorder your Hatch green chili for this fall. Many vendors ship world-wide.

I like the last line from DAVEINCAPS better than my #2 - it makes the point more clearly. What I was trying to say is it is unlikely to completely stop any program from working.
