If this is 64 bit Windows 8: Except for in a virtual machine, no.
32 bit Windows 8: Maybe, but the odds are against it.

Right from the beginning the NT platform (which includes Windows 8) would only run well behaved DOS applications. Games tend not to be well behaved. It seems that each new OS has more limited support for DOS, 64 bit systems having none at all.

I have had a lot of success running DOS applications in DOSBOX

http://www.dosbox.com/

This emulates a MS-DOS 5 enviroment, and can run 16-bit executables.

CPU timing can be a problem with some old dos games--the faster the processor, the faster the games run. I don't know if dosbox compensates for that but there is software that will slow things down.

You can always consider visiting a local thrift shop or garage sale and pick up an old PC you can run dos on.

"I have had a lot of success running DOS applications in DOSBOX"

This.
DOSBox is a better DOS gaming rig than a 486 DX-2 running DOS 6.22.
