buzzing sound while playing pandora from my laptop

May 20, 2013 at 06:17:47
Specs: Windows 8
I get a buzzing sound when playing pandora or itunes from my laptop through my stereo speakers. It's not constant, maybe between every other song or every five minutes or so. I know it's the laptop because it doesn't happen when I'm paying CD's or my ipod through the same speakers.

Try another stream. See if it happens then. A few choices are:

Thanks. But, the thing is I get the buzzing while playing my itunes from the laptop also. This is not purchased music, it's all my own CD's.

"This is not purchased music, it's all my own CD's"

Does that mean that they are CDs that you burned? If so, try a prerecorded CD & try everything in safe mode too.

Try moving the playing devices so they are further away from the speakers. Either the speaker jack is not in and grounding properly or it is usually something electronic too close to the speakers providing feedback through them, could be other electronics not just the ones playing. EX: I can hear my router noise (steady hum or ticking) come out my speakers if I set it on top of one them. Nothing to lose by trying.

They are CDs that I have purchased and downloaded (uploaded?) to itunes. I'm not concerned about that music, however; I just tried it to make sure it wasn't Pandora that was creating the buzz. If I want to listen to my itunes, I just plug my ipod into the stereo - no buzzing then. I have also plugged the laptop up to portable speakers, still the buzz. Also if I listen from the laptop speakers, the buzz. So I think I have narrowed it down to something in the laptop itself. The laptop is less about six months old and I have Windows 8.

Reboot the PC & press F8. Choose safe mode with the arrows & try it.
