Solved broken pictures library Window 8

Specs: Windows 8
Help! I'm trying to access my photos but keep getting this message: "Pictures.library-ms not working." Then it tells me it's safe to delete this library from this computer. I certainly do NOT want to delete my pictures library! How can I fix this, please?

Boot to safe mode & try to access it there.

✔ Best Answer
Are you trying this from the start menu (blocks) or from the desktop? See what happens if you follow this path:
C drive > Users > "your name" > My Pictures

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thank you , Guapo - I tried the rebooting in safe mode, but how do I try to access the libraries there?

Thank you , Derek -following the path does give me access to my photos! I'm still wondering why the libraries are broken, though, and how can they be fixed so that when I edit my photos in Picasa, they will still be automatically sent to my pictures files...

I'm none to familiar with Picasa and some programs seem to have issues with Win 8. In some cases I've resorted to going into their program settings and pointing them to the old style paths.

MS seem to want you to sign in and use cloud processing for pictures so that might have a bearing on your issue (possibly why it is saying "Pictures.library-ms not working").

Not sure but possibly the last bit on here (Picasa Photo Viewer) would help:

If you do this, first take a note of your current setting in case you want to go back.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
