Alright, I got a Zoom 56K USB Modem, Model 3095, and for a while it worked on my machine, then it suddenly just kind of stopped.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 with an AMD Phenom II x6.

It says my drivers are up to date, and when I query the modem I get the following:

ATQ0V1E0 Success
AT+FCLASS=? 0,1,1.0,8
AT+GCI=? +GCI: (00,01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09, etc etc it goes on like that for a while)
ATI1 Success
ATI2 Success
ATI3 CX93001-EIS_V0.2002-V92
ATI4 Success
ATI6 Success
ATI7 Success

Appears your modem queried just fine.

What exactly stopped working?

I'd use AT commands to try to dial something. Even if it is your cell number.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Well, I think I figured it out on my own. I looked in the Device Manager and saw both USB Modem and Standard Modem. I have no other modem so I disabled Standard Modem and my USB suddenly started working again, so I guess they were conflicting.

thanks for the help anyway.
