xp and 98 programs needed on win7 machine

Specs: Windows 7
I currently upgraded to a new pc with Windows 7 but almost all my older programs that I already own dont want to work. says its not a win32 program.
i realy do not want to have to buy new games. Is there a dos or 98 adaption program? I know i had set something in windows xp to get my 98 programes to run.

yes i am cheap. but who isnt these days.

It may be that you can reload your Windows 7 to a 32 bit install. I would look into that unless I paid for 8 G ram. You would end up with only 3.something G available on 32 bit.

Many dos and 98 programs may run in dosbox.

You may be able to convert your old install to a virtual machine with vmware's p2v app. Then run your old computer in a vm.

Could make a new vm with your old xp or 98 cd with vmplayer or virtualbox or virtualpc.

If you have one of the two highest product windows 7 you can get a free xp copy in the virtualpc (same name --dumb MS) .

In real rare conditions you be able to run an app but the installer is not 32 bit. In that case you may be able to put a trick that takes an installed program and moves it to a new computer.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
