Work PC requires Admin Password for Downloads

September 6, 2010 at 13:37:18
Specs: Windows 7
My work computer has administrator controls preventing me from downloading (or updating) programs. I want to listen to my iPhone through my computer. The IT department here won't support iTunes (unless the employee has a Mac, which had I known I would have requested a Mac and not a PC), they say it may cause problems with other work related programs and therefore they don't support iTunes. All my work involves web based databases so I don't see the problem. I've argued my case to no avail.

Is there anyway around the Adminstrator Password for downloads?

Basically what you are asking for is help in circumventing company policy mandated by management and implemented by the IT department. In some situations this could get you fired. No one on this forum will help you with this.

I guess that is true (the circumventing policy). I solved my own problem, I've put in a request to get a Mac, which has iTunes.
