I want to put a wireless router on my laptop I do not have a desktop all I have is the inernet wire...

if your laptop does not have built in wifi, just buy a wifi usb adapter, buy an 802 N, for best speed and they are very cheap.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

I have wifi in my laptop I don't have a desktop it tells me to plug into I have to set my router up without a desktop that is what I cannot do ..........RON

You can use a network cable from your laptop temporarily plugged in as a hardwired network to do the set up and your laptop will be able to do everything you could have done for it from a desktop. If in the future you need to download a really large file, the hardwired option is always there for you, and always faster than wireless. If for some reason you do not have an NIC internal card with an RJ45 jack, you may need to search for an external card/adapter. Try these:
