Windows mail was a product of Windows Vista and was discontinued for Windows 7. There is no built in Mail client in Windows 7 so you have to use something else. Possible alternatives are Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird or Windows Live 2011. The last one is part of Windows Live Essentials and is a free download from Microsoft. When installed and running it looks and acts similar to Outlook Express. Thunderbird is a Mozilla product. MS Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office Suite. There are some other programs as well but it is your choice as to what you want to use but Windows Mail will not work in a Win 7 computer.

Perhaps she is confused.....vista had windows mail, windows 7 does not.......have many computers with both vista and win 7 and that's the way it is. Incredi mail probably has a new windows 7 client you download if you wish to use it still. Windows live mail is closer to outlook than outlook express was (again people confuse all the time outlook vs outlook express)
I'm not clear what feature these don't have you need??

Get some rest and try agian with a fresh mind. to see if we can get Windows live to work....goto add/remove programs or programs & features.....look for Windows live essentials and click "remove/uninstall". It will then ask if you wish to remove it, re-install it or repair it. Try "repair". See if that works. How did incredimail get on this computer or was it transferred over?

For one, people are only trying to help without wrecking things......shouting at us with cap locks doesn't help anyone........kinda like our advice thus far. Windows live mail is a free download, you can just redownload it. Perhaps you need to adjust the security options to get it to work as you wish. But there are whole bunch of mail clients one can use. Why not download the latest incredimail if you liked that and see if you can import your old stuff? Thunderbird works much like outlook express too, Eudora is another. I already explained how to fix windows live if it fails to open.
When cooler heads prevail.....read up on some of these and see if one will work for you. Inputting the correct mail settings to get things sending and receiving is where folks run into the most problems. If you are sure of your settings, then you just have to pick ANY mail client that suits you. If this does not help, I'm sorry but atleast we try. As for winmail (Mickyd) yes, their are parts of it left behind from Vista, but you will be old and gray before it suddenly starts working. Best of luck.
