I would like to put some of my XP files on my WIN 7 and be able to get "help."
What kind of files and what help?
I have not found winhlp32.exe for windows 7.
Thank you for your help...do you think I could download the winhlp32.3xe on a thumb drive and use it that way?
huh? The file you download from M$ is in itself an installer, not an executable. Once you run the installer it will install winhlp32.exe directly in Windows folder and subfolders. You cannot run it from a thumb drive because the winhlp32 file must be accessible to any HLP file that need it. It's all explained in M$ document I linked for you in my post above. Didn't you read it? i_Xp/Vista/W7User
Well, that makes me sad as I do have some xp files/folders on m Windows 7 but the one guys said if I installed win.32 help, it would mess up windows 7. There is a place on windows 7 where you can go and ask it to recognize older versions; therefore, I though downloading the wi.32 help would be okay. Any thoughts on this?
I don't know who you were talking to. I have it on my X64 Win7 box and it hasn't messed up anything. There is no other way. Oh Well it's your call. i_Xp/Vista/W7User
Maybe you can tell me if I can download WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL on the same hard drive with my Windows 7????? That would solve all my problems.
