Windows XP and 7 - Files Recovery Question

Specs: Windows 7, 1 GB
I had Windows XP installed on my Acer laptop earlier and everything was fine until one day when the Blue Screen error started showing up. I was unable to boot my system as everytime I did it only took me to the blue screen and restart all over again.

I called my system engineer and we removed the SATA hard disk from my laptop, connected it to my desktop and took back up of some important files. He then went to disk management and deleted all the partition in my laptop hard disk. It was later on found that the problem was with the motherboard and not RAM or HDD.

Now my system is working well after the issue was solved and now it is running on Windows 7. I just realised that I forgot to take back up of another important folder that had my office documents stored in E drive (E:). Can any of the recovery software retrieve my folder as Windows has been reinstalled on my laptop after deleting the partition. Also the change from Windows XP to Windows 7 is kind of making it complicated I believe.

Let me know what can be done.

recovermyfiles, recuva
either of these will recover your files from the E drive providing they have not been overwritten, which is unlikely as you have just installed on the C: drive.
recuva is free give it a try.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

It may depend on how he formatted the drive as well as if the location was overwritten by other files. It is certainly worth the try though.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
