Solved windows wants to do a file check everytime I start up my pc

April 23, 2013 at 09:43:23
Specs: Windows 7
I found a solution- right click on command prompt and select open as administrator-
1. type in fsutil dirty query c: it will tell you if the disk is dirty or not
2. type in chkntfs/x c:
3. reboot pc
4. start command prompt again
5. type in chkdsk/f /r c: you may have to reboot again and when it starts up it will do a complete scan . It can take an hour or so, depending on how many files are on your pc
6. reopen command prompt and type in fsutil dirty query c: your disk should now be cleaned

Thanks for your contribution.

If the error checker insists on running frequently even after you have shut down Windows properly, it's advisable to test your system drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic software as it could indicate imminent drive failure.
