Use Malwarebytes to find the culprit that McAfee is missing. Nearly any Antivirus program can miss some things some times, but both McAfee and Norton are overpriced bloatware, use system resources poorly, and do not even protect nearly as well as free versions from Avast or MS Security Essentials. Clean your system out and then replace it with something free and better. If you have trouble installing or running Malwarebytes, start your system in Safe Mode with networking, do a system restore to a date before you had any problems, then install and scan to remove any left over parts before they grab hold again, in fact, run it again until you show clean. Then restart to normal mode and do a manual Windows Update to replace any you lost during the system restore roll back (your files were untouched if they were infection free).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
