Windows Password not recognized

September 19, 2012 at 03:22:40
Specs: Windows 7
I did a Windows Easy Transfer of my files from Windows XP to a Sony Viao E-Series laptop. When I type in the password it will not recognize it, I reset the password but it does not help. I notice when I put the password in and reboot the number lock stays on, and I cannot deactivate it. For now I just took the password out, but for safety reasons I prefer a password. Any suggestions?

Any chance the keyboard is faulty or on cap locks or such?

Are we talking about the old user name and pw or new user and pw?

Keyboard is fine, if there is no password cap lock, number lock work fine, I even tried a different password and it still did not help. This is a new user name and password, and this is a new laptop, only a week old.

I have never used the wizard. Does it actually transfer users to the new system? Try the old users passwords and name?
