Windows live messenger wrecked my PC

July 27, 2010 at 07:05:46
Specs: Windows 7, 2G
I just uninstalled windows-live-messenger.

Now both Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail don't work.

Tried re-installling windows-live-messenger, but still my email clients don't work.

Tried SystemRestore, but no luck.

I'm stuck.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

As windows live mail is part of the "Windows live essentials pack" in windows 7, try removing the whole pack (all windows live apps) and re-installing them This will delete all of your emails/preferences

As for thunderbird, uninstalling, deleting the profile and reinstalling should reset. This will however delete all of your existing emails/preferences so you may want to see if thunderbird loads once the windows live suite has been re-installed.

Windows Live Essentials 2011 installation fluke

I downloaded and installed the complete Windows Live Essentials 2011 package from the Window Update site, and when I tried to reboot all I got was the Screen that presents the Mother Board information. I tried the tab and delete buttons to get into a different mode on screen, but nothing happens. I have done this several times and it stalls out at the same point.

What should I do next?
