windows explorer will not start on my laptop

Specs: Windows 7
i have windows 7 on my laptop i removed some maleware from it a few days ago but now when i start my pc explore will not work. i have tried safe mode and everything and it still will not work,system restor will not help either can someone please help me.

If it won't start in Safe Mode, you likely have some file corruption (either from Malware or the malware removal). Pretty rare, but what I'd do first is try to boot to Safe Mode Command Prompt only and see if you can review the boot logs.

If you can identify that a necessary system file was possibly deleted or corrupted from the malware removal, you may be able to get that file back. In Windows Vista/7 there is no longer an i386 folder with setup files, so you'll have to run the Windows 7 autorun. Generally you can attempt the system recovery here.

Failing that, you should still be able to install Windows 7 in a separate directory without affecting the files on your system (assuming it's not a drive sector crash).

Other option is just to put that drive in an enclosure, copy over important files to a separate system through USB (virus scan them!) then delete the partition and reinstall.

Open the task manger and select run... or what that button is named and try to open Explorer.exe that way...
