Solved windows drug off screen and hidden

May 27, 2012 at 19:50:43
Specs: Windows 7, 6
Since a Hideall attack and clean up my mouse cursor will go off screen when dragged and if I am dragging a Window to one side or another it can go off screen also and is impossible to see or drag back on screen? The only cure I found is a system restore for the window problem but he mouse still can drag a window off screen again.

is this a wireless mouse?
is the mouse used on a shiny surface instead of a mouse pad?

Hi XP thanks for answering, no the mouse is a wired laser version and on a textured surface. Mouse control is excellant with no skipping. What is does is exit the screen on the right and bottom sides and if I am dragging a window it may end up completely off screen which makes dragging it back on screen very difficult to do. If I do a restart the off screen window is still off screen. It I do a close and reopen window it is still off screen. Formerly my mouse would stop at the edge of the screen. Changing resolutions does no good. Changing video settings in Control Panel or in Nvidia Control Panel has done no good. Having a commercial computer repair shop work on it has done no good and the problem started at that shop after I brought the unit home.

Are you set up for dual monitors? You might need to go into your video driver control panel and adjust it for a single display.

Yes it was set up for dual monitors but pointed to the same monitor. This tip helped a lot because now my windows will not drag off screen but set up like they are supposed to filling half the screen. The mouse still goes off the bottom and the right side of the screen though but I can live with that. Thanks XP!!!!

Hi Buggs:
Basically after the Hideall Atttack everything was wiped and reinstalled either from a backup or from ??? at the computer shop. I have to admit that I preferred the old system of me getting Op Sys disks and Windows disks so that I could do it myself.

The dual monitor tip solved the windows going completely off screen which was extremely annoying. The mouse will still travel off screen but only about an inch and so is easy to get back on screen. Thanks
