Windows could not complete the installation.

Specs: Windows 7, 4 GB
All of a suudden, "The security Center Service couldn't start." appeared on the Action Center page. I faced the same problem back in June 2011. Clicking Turnon the Security Center Service button didn't work. That time I restarted the system and kept tapping F10 until I got a pop-up window for choosing one of the TWO options. "Restoring the OS to factory defaults option" worked but I lost some apps.

This time (3/10/12) I chose 2nd option so as to save some important files and restore the system INSTEAD of choosing option1 that I chose for restoring previous crash, as mentioned above. This option took about 40 to 45 min. to restore the system.

It looks like the operating system is restored. "The set-up is starting services" appears on monitor screen. But after a few seconds, a pop-up window appears with a white cross in a red circle. The message inside this window says: Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer (laptop), restart installation NOT restart computer.

That po-up window has an OK button. Clicked the OK button, a messasge appears: Setup will continue after restarting ur computer.

The computer starts itself with out shutting down Windows. Same RUT goes on and on and on - - - - - - - -! It does frustrates me. PLEASE DO HELP.
