July 3, 2012 at 05:37:01
Specs: Win 7 64 bit Enterprise
HP Multifunction Printer 3330 when plugged in Win7 64bit gives error "Print Driver Install Unsuccessful" How do I get it working again. This is a fresh Win7 64bit install. I plug in the printer and starts to install then give the above error. If I try to "apply fix" it does do anything even with Internet up and available. Windows Update doesn't seem to load a driver. When I check the driver status is say "no driver loaded". Help please.

""Print Driver Install Unsuccessful" How do I get it working again. This is a fresh Win7 64bit install. I plug in the printer and starts to install then give the above error. "

Follow the software installation instructions !

E.g. these things usually apply:

You DO NOT plug in the USB connection to the multifunction printer etc. until AFTER you have installed at least some of the HP software for it. After some of the software has been installed, you will probably THEN be prompted to plug in the USB connection to it, and then other software may be installed.

You DO NOT install drivers for the multifunction printer etc. when Found New Hardware pops up !
You CANCEL that, and install the proper HP software installation, either by using the installation program on the CD or DVD that came with it, or by running the software installation file you downloaded from the HP web site for your specific model.

Go to Control Panel - display as Large icons or Small icons - Programs and Features. If there is anything listed there for the
multifunction printer etc., Uninstall it BEFORE you install the software for it the RIGHT way.

Go to Control Panel - display as Large icons or Small icons - Printers
If the multifunction printer etc., is listed, DELETE it BEFORE you install the software for it the RIGHT way.

I have the same problem. I tried to install a different hp printer with the same results. I was told by HP that if it happens to 2 printers the problem is with the computer. I would look for ways to check system files etc. I am going to run file checker. Perhaps we have missing or corrupt system files.
