windows 7 won't boot after sanitizer

Compaq hp / D40

Specs: Windows 7
I recently did a disc sanitizer on my new Compaq
laptop. Thought that it would fix my re-format my
laptop so that I could reinstall Windows in English
instead of the German version that was installed. Now
I am having problems getting Windows 7 to boot. I
have tried changing the settings in BIOS to boot from
CD as primary. No luck. Then tried booting from my
laptop's hard drive. No luck. Same error. "Non-
system disk or disc error" - "replace and strike any
key when ready". I have my Windows 7 installation
cd in the drive, but my laptop doesn't seem to
recognize it. I don't have a flash drive big enough to
attempt to boot from usb, and I don't have a floppy
drive to create a boot from there. What makes
matters worse is that the only other computer I have
is another laptop, but it's a mac. I read a few forums
and it doesn't look good as it seems that I erased all
on my laptop.

Can anyone please help me?

Some systems need a special hard drive area to use the restore disks. Try that cd/dvd on another system to see if it will boot there.

Thank you for your response. I managed to open the dvd on
another computer. Didn't boot from it, to that computer, cause
my other computer is a mac. I opened the dvd and could see
all the instillation files. Do you suggest I try to boot that dvd on
another computer with Windows 7 already installed?

Disk sanitizers are used to render hard drives useless before they are discarded. The only thing you can do is give HP Compaq a call and explain your mistake. They may ship you a set of discs that may rebuilt the hard drive to factory condition which traditionally consists of three partitions:
1. EISA (no drive letter)
2. Drive C - Your Windows disc, and
3, Drive D HP Compaq Recovery Partition

Good luck,
