Solved windows 7 ultimate uninstall

Specs: Windows 7
I wish to uninstall a counterfeit version of Windows 7 Ultimate so that I can re-install Windows XP on a Dell pentium4 desktop computer.

Do you have an actual XP disk, with the appropriate CD key? If so, just reboot the computer with the CD in the drive, press F12(?) to select the CD drive as boot and then follow the prompts to format the harddrive and install XP. If you have the original Dell drivers and applications disk then this will help, otherwise you will need to download the XP drivers for your machine from the Dell website. Note that you will need to backup/make a copy of any data you want to save beforehand as formatting will wipe everything from the harddrive.

Hi Lennylion,

If your system came pre-installed with Windows XP and you are using the disk sent with the system, it would not request you to enter product key during the installation.

Thanks Guys, both messages help to solve
the issue. I have now re-installed XP,
SP2,SP3 and all updates including IE8,
which has created another issue. When I
try to open the internet browser it will not open, although it does very briefly
flash up on the screen. Any suggestions?
