windows 7 triple monitors

Pny Nvidia geforce gtx 460 1gb gddr5 pci...

Specs: Windows 7, 3.0GHz/12gb
in the windows resolution settings, it shows all 3 monitors. but only 2 can be active at once...the 3rd is always greyed out. how do i fix this? both video cards are nvidia geforce gtx 460

download the latest nvidia drivers and use the nvidia control panel to setup your monitors.
it may be on your system right click on the desktop and see if you have Nvidia control panel.

i hate computers!

The Nvidia cards only support 2 active monitors on a single card. In order to run 3 monitors you need to have 2 cards, SLI them and run 2 monitors from the first card and the third or fourth from the second card. ATI makes the only single card triple monitor with the 5xxx series using eyefinity.

i have 2 nvidia dual out cards which can support 4 monitors.

anyways thx to both of u. it is very kind to go out of ur way to help strangers for nothing in return. i greatly appreciate it. i was able to install the nvidia software and change the settings there to get access to all of my monitors.
