Derek or anyone that is very technical: I used the Alt key and it worked to bring back my toolbar in Windows 7. Please tell me how to lock it to keep it to stay. Thanks so much !!
As you mentioned the Alt Key, I assume you are talking about your browser. For Internet Explorer and Firefox the Alt key only makes the toolbar appear temporarily. To make it permanent, first press the Alt key. Then right click a blank part of the Window just under the blue title bar. Now put a check mark in Menu Bar.
Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
You are asking about Windows 7 but I think you mean Internet Explorer. Is that right? If so, what version of Internet Explorer are you using? Click on the help button to see.
Control Panel / Folder Options / View tab / [] always show menus.
ClassyLady ,
If you mean the task bar at the bottom of your screen then right click on a blank spot on the taskbar and put a check mark in to lock it.Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions 7 Golds

Thanks Derek........yes, that is exactly what I did..........use the Alt key and go to menu bar and lock it. I am new to this so I am learning. Thank you so much for your help and I appreciate it.
Glad to hear it's fixed now.
