Turn off computer and power back up and try again.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Response #1 will usually work pretty reliably, but if it does NOT then do a system restore to a date when all was working correctly, THEN scan with Malwarebytes (free download). Some nasty infections have been known to freeze Task Manager, antivirus programs (if they get their foot in the door), and some of the other tools we use to shut them down so they can worm their way deeper into our systems. Sometimes if you have trouble starting system restore or loading or running Malwarebytes then restart into Safe Mode and try again, but try Malwarebytes first then the system restore to a date far enough back to be sure you did not have the problem at all. When all is done, update your antivirus program or switch to Avast antivirus free version.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
