Windows 7 System Resume Problem

April 10, 2011 at 17:01:02
Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
Whenever my laptop dies, it used to resume when the battery was put back in it. But lately when it dies it will load up, I login to Windows, and it just goes to a black screen.
Any ideas what this could be?

You should really avoid letting the laptop just die. Monitor your battery life (if needed, get one of the desktop monitors that shows you the battery level on a see through panel on your desktop. It is really not good for it to die from a low battery.
Try pressing and holding the power button to force a shut down and restarting. If that does not help, try starting in Safe Mode and do a system restore to repair your system due to a corrupted file related to the battery dying.
If this does not work, you may need to use Windows install disk, Recovery disk, or Recovery partition to do a repair (start up repair). Do not do a factory restore unless you have already tried everything else AND you have made a back up of your files (your last resort). If you need to back up your files and you cannot even get into Safe Mode to do this, use a Linux Disk and boot to it and proceed to save your files to an external drive.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
