If you tap F8 while booting can you get to the screen that shows Safe Mode, Command Prompt, etc as a list (white on black)?

What you need to run is the "Windows Start up repair", it is sometimes part of the "Windows Advanced Recovery Menu", it will say "Repair computer" and likely a list of other choices as mentioned above. IF that is not listed as an option you need a windows 7 disk to do the repair or a Windows 7 repair disk, easily made by anyone with Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit depending on your system. If you have a 32 bit system you need the win 7 32 bit repair disk or visa versa.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!

✔ Best Answer
"My PC was working perfectly"
1: Hit the power off button.
2: Wait a minute & reboot.
3: If you don't get the repair option, repeat the process about 6 times until you get it, after that, you probably will not get that option.

Please raise your own new post. No two problems are ever alike and a new post would be at the top of the pile and attract more helpers. This one finished in June.
