Windows 7 Service Pack 1 released

Specs: Windows 7
Welp, it's been 2 days, but I don't see any thread here, so I might as well start one.

As the title says, Win7 SP1 has officially been released.

Most of you should see the option in Windows Update, assuming you actually ever look at it. (I know I don't.)

For those of you who want/need the off-line installer, you can grab it from Microsoft.

Oh, I almost forgot, you can read the list of changes for yourself. The most exciting change? "Restore previous folder windows at logon" will remember the position of those windows.

Installed fine.

Took a while so it must do "something". Spent a long time on Google trying to find out exactly what it is supposed to do (apart from ensure you have current windows updates) and found nothing but a very brief precis and folk compaining that there is no detail from MS about it.

If I were suspicious I would wonder if its main functions are to stitch up your machine to maximise MS's business and to minimise piracy.

We all live on the same ball.
