Windows 7 Repair not working how to format??

July 17, 2010 at 00:45:37
Specs: Windows 7
My friend physically broke his computer (fist). so i decided to let him borrow my extra laptop. well he had the idea to replace the drivers i had on my computer with his drivers on his old computer and now it wont start up.

it ask to start to repair, but when it repairs it seems to be either going really slow, or freezes.

i gave him this computer with nothing at it.. fresh windows 7, so i just want to reformat and reinstall a new windows 7.

it tries to auto repair, i was hoping to give an option to reinstall windows again, but it does not.

how do i bypass the auto repair and format? is there a way to format this hard drive with out cd, is there any other way to format this?

you need a dvd or usb,
did you try a system restore rather than a repair?
seems to me your friend should be banned from computers ;-)

if its a laptop and you didnt format the hidden partition when you originally installed win7 you may be able to run a factory restore you should the information on this page, depending on what manufacturer .. http://www-tus.csx.cam.ac.uk/window...

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Well i have seem to figure my crisis out! what i have done was download Ubuntu(linux) and boot disc on start up, then formated/installed linux over the currupted windows 7.

in return i will install windows 7 for my friend cause he is not familiar with Linux.

If he punched his computer and then screwed up your laptop, why are you trying to help a moron?

He has anger issues and is not to be trusted. Believe me.

Chuck Norris was once asked why he doesn't use an iPhone, he responded, "Same reason I don't use tampons."
