You could try deleting the deleted items.dbx file and OE will create a new one. You might have to show hidden files in Windows before using Search.

Other than that I am wondering if it came about due to MS not supporting Outlook Express any more. Updates to Windows 7 and IE9 are unlikely to be tested on OE these days and could well screw it up.

Maybe its time to use Windows Live Mail. You can always ignore any of it's gimmicks that you don't like, and it should be possible to transfer your messages over to it en-bloc. There are other similar email packages around too, such as Thunderbird.

Outlook Express does not exist in Windows 7. Are you referring to Microsoft Outlook??

Yes, of-course, you are quite right. OE was last used in XP.
