Windows 7 on older hardware

Specs: XP Pro SP3, P4 2.0GHz, 768MB RAM
Hello, I have an older Toshiba Satalite Laptop. It has a pentium 4-m processor at 2.0 GHz, 768 MB of RAM, and an NVIDIA Geforce4 420m with 16MB of VRAM. Is this good enough to run windows 7 home premium with aero turned off (maybe even put in classic mode). Or should I just stick with Windows XP which is on it now.

Without more RAM, stick with XP

+1 for sticking with XP, you don't want to be put off W7 by using it on an underpowerd pc.
Save the cost of W7 towards a brand new laptop with W7 on it, you will be much happier.

And FWIW, here's Microsoft's "minimum" specs for Win7:

And most of MS's minimum specs are set too low as it is....
