windows 7 machine times out on all https site

Specs: Windows 7, 3 gigs
windows 7 home premium 64 bit times out accessing https sites. tried with firefox, chrome, ie8. non-secure sites seem OK - maybe slow. using direct connection to router, broadband fios. Norton internet security 2010. Problem is that our other computer, running xp home, works fine, on a wireless connection to the router, norton 360.
This just started happening yesterday. Don't know if there were any downloads on windows 7 machine. Wife slammed a door into router, but it seems OK.

Any ideas?

Get rid of all that Norton crap. Norton seriously bogs down a system. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials for a nice all in one package.

I suspect that port 443 is being blocked or your browser settings do not allow https for some reason.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
